Overview

Design an Empty Hand Puzzle, and invite others to solve your creation. They will rate your puzzle on how clever and satisfying the solution is. Remember that only people who actually solve it will qualify as judges.

The Test of Empty Hand is the sixth test in the discipline of Thought.

Passing the Principle

Build, design and open an Empty Hand Puzzle for judging OR solve 3 recent winning puzzles.

Solving a Puzzle

See http://www.atitd.org/wiki/tale3/Tests/Test_Of_Empty_Hand/How_To_Play

  • There are two factors involved:
    • Transformations - which change the blocks from what they are now to what they will be.
    • Positions - which are where the blocks are placed on the track
  • The goal is to change groups of blocks to other groups of blocks (via transformations) until you can clear the track.
  • When you hit play, the display area in the bottom section shows all seven possible transformations that can ever occur.
  • A transformation only works if the pieces starting from the 'home' position match one of the options in the display area.
  • Usually, the top transformation in the display area is the final goal and provides an option to clear the track.

See Test Pass History.
