The Principles of Architecture is a basic task which, once completed, enables the player to pursue the seven Tests in the Architecture discipline. A level is also gained on completion. To sign up for the Principle of Architecture, visit a School or University of Architecture and use the "Tests" menu. You must be level 1 or higher to sign up.

Principles of Architecture

Build a compound, and expand it to at least 16 sectors. You must build the compound (CP), but you do not necessarily have to expand it yourself.

To expand your CP click on the outer border and then choose Blueprints -> Edit blueprints -> Building shape -> Add a sector and click on the outer wall. Note: after these steps you must load the materials to actually expand your CP. Until that is complete, you are not able to maintain or create new buildings in your CP.

If you have a paid account, immediately add a cornerstone to prevent deterioration.

Once you pass the principle, you will gain a level and will also be able to sign up for the Tests of Architecture discipline (provided that you meet the level requirements and that the tests have been released).

Minimum Materials Needed

A beginning Town House style compound starts with a footprint of 2 by 3 sectors (6 total). The most compact 16-sector compound has a footprint of 4 by 4 sectors, and is also the most cost-efficient way to expand your compound. Materials required:

For the initial CP:

For the expansion:

(The new architectural elements used in this expansion are 10 standard ceilings, 9 default facades, 3 corner facades, and 10 granite floors.)
