Certain technologies, skills, tests and activities require that you have reached a minimum level in the game. Additionally, gaining levels is fun and makes you feel cooler. Levels are gained by passing Principles and Tests. In mid to end game you may also gain levels by gazing player built pyramids.
Achieving Levels
There is a maximum possible level of 70 naturally gained levels, which breaks down into the following:
(Additional levels can be gained through the use of Beer Tokens)
- 1 for Citizenship
- 1 for each of the seven Principles of the disciplines. (7)
- 1 for each Test principle (49)
- 1 for each Title prefix change (7) (Student of... through Oracle of...). Note that this does not mean one level per test passed.
- 1 for each extra Oracleship you receive (6)
Achieving level 70 would require you to be an Oracle of all seven disciplines, unless levels are gained through Beer Tokens (bribery). There are no new skills/techs/tests or any other benefit past Level 42.
