About Me - Level 40 / Journeyman Of The Human Body

I started playing in T1, but not for very long. It was more of a passing interest at that time. I really began playing with a degree of focus in T2, settling in (what is now) Stillwater, but joined so late that I was too far behind to be any real good or to do anything cool and then RL got busy and I had to quit. I never passed a test in T2 during my time playing. I returned to the game in T4 and started to get into it once again by joining a guild and enjoyed the game.

I am currently live in Shabbat Ab at 1023, 1488 (see map below). I have a CP that has been donated to my guild GBSF, along with a camel pen, rabbit hutch, and sheep pen.

I enjoy foraging herbs, so please see below in the trading section for the type and amount of herbs I have. I also have a small store of mushrooms (again see below in the Trading section).

Demi-Pharoah

I have tried to avoid the cookie-cutter Q&A page that some of the other candidates have posted for their DP bid. I have put my DP philosophy on my homepage so you can get a sense of my character from it and my ideas on being a DP as well. Should you have any questions for me personally, I encourage and invite you to /chat me in-game. I will be glad to answer all questions as soon as time allows. This is my open door promise to you.

While the role of DP is given a considerable amount of power, there is a great deal of responsibility that comes with the position as well. The DP role is primarily that of a mediator and as such, the weapons of their warfare are words, not the sword. In the words of Teddy Roosevelt they should “speak softly and carry a big stick.”

That is to say, that DPs are primarily negotiators. They try to fix problems and create win-win solutions for two or more players in-game. Should problems still persist or if the problems are too abhorrent and there comes a time, the DP must also be willing to wield that power, not out of malice, but out of reason and a desire to make not only the game, but Egypt better for everyone else.

This is not an easy role to fill because it might be too tempting to go straight to their biggest weapon, the “big stick” if you will, which is the ability to ban. While players and the DP should recognize they have this ability it should be the very last thing ultimately used in a situation when trying to work out a solution becomes unattainable.

This sort of problem-solving is something that I enjoy doing. It is something I do in my real life as an attorney. I like and am good at diagnosing a situation and coming up with an answer to a question or solution to a problem which will benefit everyone involved. If elected DP, I will bring this strong skill-set to an office that I would accept with the gravity and respect that is due it.

This is also important because, a secondary role of the DP as I see it is the ability to help others out in playing the game, whether they be a new or an old player. Whenever people enter into a social game such as this, they can do one of three things – help each other out, keep to themselves, or take advantage of one another. To put a positive face on the leaders of Egypt, the DPs should come from this first group of people. Helping each other is pretty much the only socially acceptable way to play the game. We, as Egyptians, should elect DPs who reflect the values of respect for one another, trustworthiness, integrity that we should hold dear and , which I think I do reflect and why I desire to hold the office of DP. Thanks for your vote!
